Venn diagrams are useful graphic organizers for comparing and contrasting two ideas. The diagram has two merging ovals and the differences are listed on the outside portions of the two ovals and the similarities are listed in the space where the ovals merge.
I commonly use venn diagrams in my classes to lead my students to compare holidays, countries, characters of a storybook, etc.
