CLD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) learners require special care and sensitivity. While other students may be able to enjoy the advantage of growing up in the community of the school, students who migrate to the community do not have such privilege. For various reasons, their family may have left their home community and moved to a place much different then what they are accustomed to. Appropriate accommodations and modifications will need to be made to help these student's succeed. In addition, teachers must be intentional about forming positive connections with ELL families.
